Aviation

The aviation industry is the transportation network that carries goods and passengers by air across NZ and the South Pacific. While air travel was only made possible in the early 20th century, the local aviation industry now generates billions of dollars in annual revenue.  LC (Liquid Controls) meters are the aviation industry standard for meters and registers. Pump & Machinery have been the LC (liquid controls) distributor for NZ for 50 proud years. In addition to LC (credit for the photo) we also offer pumps and equipment from:

  • Tuthill,
  • Corken
  • Blackmer,

Blackmer Centrifugal Pumps

The System One Centrifugal Pumps are designed specifically to operate in severe process industry applications, and contain oversized bearings to offer greater load capacity and extended bearing life. These pumps increase productivity, while offering maximum reliability in the toughest of applications, such as mining de-watering, chemical process and water/wastewater treatment.

Blackmer Centrifugal Pumps

The simplest type of centrifugal pump is the single stage machine that consists fundamentally of a rotating element, called an impeller, and a casing. Liquid is led to the eye or center of the impeller and is set into rotation by the impeller vanes. By virtue of centrifugal force the liquid is thrown from the rim or periphery of the impeller with a considerable velocity and pressure. The casing, which closely surrounds the impeller, has a volute shaped passage of increasing area, which collects the liquid leaving the impeller, and converts a portion of its velocity energy into additional pressure energy. This casing passage leads to the discharge nozzle of the pump where it is forced into the discharge piping.

Graco Process Pumps -Air Operated Diaphram Pumps

An air operated diaphragm pump (also known as AODD pump or membrane pump) is a type of positive displacement pump that uses compressed air as a power source. The compressed air is shifted from one chamber to the other by a linked shaft that allows the chambers to move simultaneously. This back-and-forth motion, forces liquid out of one chamber and into the outlet manifold, while filling the opposite fluid chamber via the inlet manifold. Upon changeover, the fluid section that was filled on the previous shift empties into the outlet manifold and the fills the opposite chamber via the inlet manifold. The rapid changeover allows for reduced pulsation at the outlet.
