Marine

As an island, nation, the marine environment is closely linked to New Zealand’s society and economy. Almost all of our imports and exports, both by value and volume, are imported via sea freight. The majority of oil and gas reserves are located offshore. New Zealand and the South Pacific have a significant fishing industry, and for many New Zealanders the marine environment is a place of relaxation and recreation. Pumps widely used across the marine industry include:

Tuthill Gear Pumps

Gear pumps are positive displacement pumps, available in a variety of designs, but there are two basic types: external and internal. External gear pumps consists of two identical, interlocking gears supported by separate shafts. Internal gear pumps have two interlocking gears of different sizes with one rotating inside the other.

Typical applications include:
- Petroleum
- Water
- Resins and Polymers
- Fats and Oils

Pump & Machinery offer a wide range of gear pumps from a variety of manufacturers, we stock Tuthill pumps and parts.

Carver GH End-Suction Centrifugal Pump

GH

Available as either a frame-mounted (GHF) or close-coupled (GHC) unit, the GH is based on the same product platform as our vertical pumps and shares many of the same parts.

For added simplicity, the entire series is covered by only three bearing frames and comes in whole pump or modular kit form. The GHC is fully compatible with standard, off-the-shelf NEMA JP and JM frame motors, and all models feature a back pull-out design and casings rotatable in 90° increments for different field piping orientations

Carver GH End-Suction Centrifugal Pump

Other common features for the GH include 316 SS shaft sleeves, keyed impellers to prevent accidental spin off, dynamic balancing to ISO G2.5 guidelines, and re re greaseable bearings secured with locking rings, as standard. These features combine to produce shaft deflection values so low that they exceed the requirements of ANSI B73.1M-1991 and overall, provide some of the most efficient hydraulics in the industry.

Options for the JP include replaceable wear rings, cartridge seals, and flush plans. Along with these, higher alloy material options such as Ni-Al-Br and CD4MCuN and a full range of motor and baseplate choices are also available.

Blackmer Screw Pumps

Blackmer® S Series screw pumps are self-priming, double-ended, positive displacement pumps that offer outstanding performance in the most demanding applications regardless of temperature, viscosity or pressure. The twin and triple screw designs provide complete axial balancing of the rotating screws and their timing technologies eliminate metal-to-metal contact within the pump.

Blackmer Screw Pumps

Blackmer S Series pumps are available in four distinct lines, each having multiple model configurations and sizes: twin screw (WTG), twin screw with non-timing gear (NTG), multi-phase twin screw, and triple screw. Other features of Blackmer S Series pumps include compact design, ability to run dry for short periods, high suction lift and constant flow rates despite varying conditions. They are low noise and nearly pulsation-free with little fluid agitation, making them ideal for use with corrosive and non-corrosive, low or high viscosity, and clean or abrasive liquids.

Blackmer Centrifugal Pumps

The System One Centrifugal Pumps are designed specifically to operate in severe process industry applications, and contain oversized bearings to offer greater load capacity and extended bearing life. These pumps increase productivity, while offering maximum reliability in the toughest of applications, such as mining de-watering, chemical process and water/wastewater treatment.

Blackmer Centrifugal Pumps

The simplest type of centrifugal pump is the single stage machine that consists fundamentally of a rotating element, called an impeller, and a casing. Liquid is led to the eye or center of the impeller and is set into rotation by the impeller vanes. By virtue of centrifugal force the liquid is thrown from the rim or periphery of the impeller with a considerable velocity and pressure. The casing, which closely surrounds the impeller, has a volute shaped passage of increasing area, which collects the liquid leaving the impeller, and converts a portion of its velocity energy into additional pressure energy. This casing passage leads to the discharge nozzle of the pump where it is forced into the discharge piping.
